Naomi Campbell’s Fashion Relief
Naomi Campbell is showing her charitable side. She has organised a series of fashion shows in order to generate funds to contribute towards relief efforts in Haiti. There will be a fashion show on February 12th as part of the New York Fashion Week and the same runway show will also be a part of London Fashion Week. Tickets for the New York show range from $100 to $150 and proceeds will be donated to CARE a charity helping to rebuild healthcare for mothers and children affected by the Haitian earthquake. What is unusual about this Fashion for Relief show is that it will not be the usual fashionistas in the audience, due to its charitable nature members of the public can simply purchase a ticket and attend. Seeing as these sort of shows are extremely difficult to attend unless you know someone in the know, this is a rare chance to see designers, models and celebrities up close.
Fashion for Relief was set up in 2005 by Naomi and she has organised other fashion events under this umbrella title in order to raise funds for different charities. This time around she was asked which designers she called on for the series of shows for Haiti and she explained she contacted all of them (oh to have Ms. Campbell’s telephone book). We can expect a number of Naomi’s famours pals to appear on the show.
The New York fashion show will be hosted by Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York and styling it will be famous stylist Rachel Zoe. It will take place in the Bryant Park Tents and Naomi promises that it will show some of the biggest named celebrities from the both the world of fashion and entertainment. After the show, clothes shown at it will be auctioned on net-a-porter.com to generate further funds for charity.
